The Intercontinental Hotel was the stunning venue for yesterday morning’s launch of Boots brand new Parenting Club. It was an intimate launch with bloggers and media representatives present. Our children were also invited and it was very child friendly indeed, with just the right amount of toy’s and activities for our little ones to enjoy while us adults were doing what we do best – talking and nibbling on the scrumptious food on offer!
Four very different women then spoke all things related to parenting and children.
First up was –
Gillian Hennessy – Head of Marketing Boots Ireland welcomed us all and spoke of what the Parenting Club has to offer. Boots Parenting Club is an online resource which offers advice and fantastic value to members. Once you sign up to the Parenting Club you will not only receive 10 Boots Advantage Card points for every €1 you spend on baby products but you also receive tailor made emails with advice, gift ideas, and the latest news in the world of kids and parenting. All of this is available to parents of children aged 0-3 years. Gillian spoke very passionately about the Parenting Club and is quite sure of it’s future success.
One of my style crushes was also in attendance – Xpose presenter Aisling O’ Loughlin gave us an insight into her life as a mother of two young boy’s. Most of the room could relate to her tails of when toddlers do damage, like dropping a brand new phone into water, lipstick crushed into the (cream) carpet, sleepless nights (you get the picture) it’s basically chaos with a toddler, especially two…
I then wanted to kidnap Sleep Expert Niamh O’ Reilly, author of No Fuss Baby & Toddler Sleep and just take her home with me for a week or so, but too many people would have noticed! So instead I threw a few questions her way. Niamh has a wealth of knowledge in this department and has quite a calm approach to this issue. Her book is available to buy HERE and I’m intrigued to read and learn how to help Olivia sleep through the night.
The final speaker of the morning was Seanna – a Boots Pharmacist on Upper Baggot St. This lady gave a very strong Q&A and the one tip that’s ringing in my head still is- if your child isn’t a fussy eater then you don’t necessarily have to give them a multivitamin tonic or tablet because they already have such a good range of food in their diet, they most likely have all the vitamins they need. Olivia eats a variety of foods so I just think it’s one less thing for me to have to worry about.
Once the official speakers were finished, it was nice to go and mingle with some fellow bloggers that I had only ever spoken to online. They were just lovely in real life. There’s nothing fickle about the Irish Parenting Bloggers I tell ya!
We received a fab goody box (yeah box, not bag)! It’s packed full of essentials for pregnancy and early motherhood. I’m already looking forward to the next event. Networking at it’s best!
