I woke up on Mother’s Day with a similar feeling that you’d have on Christmas morning or on your birthday. I was super excited because I anticipated a bit of spoiling coming my way, I was welcoming any bit of positive acknowledgment for being a mother! (Shallow I know) And in fairness to my boyfriend he did good this year.
Olivia was quickly ushered into the bedroom holding my card and gift. It was wrapped and at first glance I presumed it was perfume but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was in fact GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD TINGLE EXFOLIANT TREATMENT. I had never seen or heard of this product before so at first, I was bit like, what the f**k is that? But after reading the information leaflet and scouring through Instagram, I thought ok, he’s onto something here.
It’s probably not your normal Mother’s Day gift to receive but I’ve had trouble with my skin the past two months, it’s been spotty, oily and quite tired looking. Even though I was prone to spots all of my teenage years and in my twenties, my skin was never looking as good since my pregnancy and I put that down to my hormones balancing out & a dedicated skincare routine using Shiseido products. So in fairness to my dear boyfriend he had his heart in the right place buying me this mask. I instantly wanted to apply it but neither time nor a toddler would allow me, so I waited until that evening when I could focus on it completely.
GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD is a “facial in a jar”. It was designed as a 10 minute professional facial, used behind the scenes in Hollywood’s entertainment industries. It contains an ingredient called TEAOXI™ which is a continuous time release technology, delivering daily fresh Super-Squalene, (which is oil derived from the liver of deep water sharks) ***gasp*** with EGCG Super-Antioxidants & Polyphenols direct into the mud from the real pieces of tealeaf contained in the mask.
It also contains – Volcanic Minerals, Ivy, Cucumber, Comfrey Herb, Lavender, Chamomile Flower & Marigold flower.
My first application went a bit like this – stirred the mud with the handle of a teaspoon, and neatly slapped it onto my (cleansed) face using my fingertips. The tingle sensation began after about 60 seconds, I was expecting it but I couldn’t help feeling a little bit anxious that I was having an allergic reaction to it, but the sensation didn’t last long so I knew I was ok. Realistically I probably left in on my face longer than the 10 minutes stated because I was just wanting to make sure it would do it’s job properly 😉 I rinsed it off using wet cotton pads, as it’s quite stiff to remove. But saying that, I’ve now used it a second time and instead I rinsed it off with my hands using a circular motion to get the exfoliant working into my skin. I’ve used it both times in the evening and it’s not until the next morning that I really noticed the results. I can honestly say I feel like I’ve had a mini facelift, my skin is noticeably firmer and definitely glowing. When I apply my makeup I feel and look a lot more flawless than before and my skin doesn’t become oily as quickly now either. A few blemishes have appeared on my left cheek today but I expected that as masks draw out impurities. It’s a powerful anti-ageing remedy and I’m hooked already.
A 50g pot (of magic) costs 69.00 euro. It isn’t cheap but it’s a great little investment and you only apply a thin layer each time, so it should last for a good few weeks if you use it as instructed.
Go on girls, you know you want to! 😉
