Capturing our children on camera is what we all love to do. That moment we have captured is there to look at and adore forever. I love taking photos whether it’s people, scenery whatever takes my fancy really.
During my pregnancy I came across a lovely photographer who took fabulous photos of babies using adorable and really unique props. I had arranged with the photographer to take pics when Olivia was a few day’s old but because she was 9 day’s overdue I had to cancel the appointment I made and to this day I never got those photos taken, what with having all our visitors and dealing with tiredness in those first few weeks of her life I just never got round to booking them again.
So my reason for writing this entry today is, we amateur photographers can actually take pretty good photos all by ourselves especially with all the fancy apps these day’s that improve images etc and it’s also down to correct lighting and the position and items around our baby. I say items around our baby because personally I like having the photo somewhat posed, i can’t imagine having a lovely pic of Olivia with say a plate of chips and ketchup on show in the background that would ruin it for me. Also, have the image centred/in focus, don’t have half the ceiling or the floor in view. Some photos will of course be spontaneous where we just have to grab the camera and click but I have a few photos I know I will get enlarged or printed onto a canvas and it won’t cost me much at all.
I felt gulity a few weeks ago for not getting a professional to take photos but now I know I have some really good ones and it’s all my own doing. Here are few examples that I’m proud of…
